The Company

Brief Counsel Ltd was established in October 2008 and commenced operations on a pilot basis with selected solicitors and counsel in December 2008. The "Public Beta Version" of the company's website was published in April 2009. This final version was released in July 2009 and is updated periodically.

Brief Counsel Ltd is an Irish-registered limited liability company by shares, Registration No. 462884, and is privately held. Our offices are adjacent to the Four Courts, the Criminal Courts Complex, the Law Library and Blackhall Place, at 6 Ellis Quay, Dublin 7.


Who we are
  

Hugh Kennedy

Hugh was called to the Bar in 2005. He is co-author of The Law of Company Insolvency (Thomson Round Hall, 2008) and Company Law (Thomson Round Hall, 2008) as well as various articles in the Law Society Gazette, Bar Review and Accountancy Ireland.

 

John Cronin

John qualified as a solicitor in 2005 with a large Dublin firm. He holds an LLB degree from University College Cork and an MA from Queen's University Belfast.  He has a number of years experience sourcing work opportunities for solicitors and barristers in Ireland and the UK.  He is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the Marketing Institute of Ireland.

Tom Kennedy

Tom, an Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003, co-founded Web Reservations International Ltd in 1999. Web Reservations International Ltd is the company behind leading service websites such as Hostelworld.com, Trav.com and Boo.com.

 Gráinne Madden

Gráinne is the founder and principal of GMJ Associates, a specialist business ethics and corporate social responsibility consultancy based in Dublin. She obtained her MBA from UCD's Smurfit Graduate School of Business, where she specialised in Business Ethics. Her research has been published in the Journal of Business Ethics. As well as working with various client companies and organisations, she lectures on corporate responsibility to MBA students.
